Our Beliefs
Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God in both the Old and New Testaments. It is inerrant in its original autographs, and is the church’s absolute authority. Both the Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures are the foundation of our church’s faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31–32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32).
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience (Genesis 1:1, 26; John 1:1, 3; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; Romans 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:5-6).
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Luke 10:21-22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16; 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:1-2; 2:5-6; I Peter 1:3; Revelation 1:6).
God the Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1; 20:28; Romans 9:5; 8:32; 2 Corinthians 5:21; I Peter 2:21-23; John 20:30, 31; Matthew 20:28; Ephesians 1:4; Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6-8; 6:9-10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Timothy 3:16)
God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide (John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26, 27; John 16:9-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22-26).
Man
We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God in both the Old and New Testaments.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ. Salvation is received only through personal faith in Christ, and all who trust Christ as Savior are kept secure in Him forever (John 1:12; Romans 5:18–19; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8–10; 1 Peter 1:18–19).
The Church
We believe the local church, as a part of the universal body of Christ, is an assembly of believers united for godly worship, work, and fellowship. Believers are responsible for living under the authority of the Scriptures and making disciples by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that our Lord has commanded us (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; 2:42; Ephesians 2:19–22; 5:19–21; Hebrews 10:23–25).
Angels
We believe that angels are invisible spiritual beings who, at times, can assume bodily form. God created them to worship Him and serve the saints – they are not to be worshiped. Satan, a fallen angel, is active today as the enemy of God and the Church. His destiny is eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire (Genesis 3:1–15; Colossians 1:6; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 20:10).
Last Things
We believe the Lord will return to receive the Church to Himself and ultimately establish His kingdom on Earth. Every individual will be resurrected; the saved to eternal life, and the lost to judgment and eternal hell. The souls of the saved are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where they await the resurrection of their bodies (Matthew 16:27; Mark 14:62; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Phil. 3:20; I Thess 4:15; II Tim 4:1; Titus 2:13; I Cor 4:5;15; II Thess1:7-10; Rev 20:4-6,11-15).
Distinctives
- We believe that Jesus has called His people to a life of discipleship and submission to Him. The gospel call is not just a call for a decision, but it is also a call to follow our Savior wholeheartedly and humbly.
- We interpret Scripture literally, grammatically, and historically, aiming to understand the original author’s meaning and apply it to our lives today.
- We are an independent Bible church. Though we love our friendships, fellowships, and cooperation with other churches and ministries, we do not have any denominational ties or associations.
- We hold biblical views on a variety of cultural hot-button issues today, such as God’s definition of marriage and sexuality, the Christian’s duty to “obey God rather than man,” and more
